Topanga sat at her usual History class with tired, dreadful eyes. Her hair was curled into perfection, but her face screamed she was having a horrible day. She tried to focus on what Ms. A was saying, but she just couldn’t. She closed her eyes and imagined lilies. White-petaled, wind blowing lilies, ones that always made her smile brighten and eyes open. But this time, she couldn’t make her brilliant blue eyes open again, like it always did. Resting her head on the cool wooden table she was sitting at, she sighed exhaustedly. “Uhm, excuse me?” She heard from the nearby door. The voice was oddly familiar, but she just couldn’t place the missing piece into the puzzle. Opening her eyes, she sat up and saw who it was. It was a guy, who she still couldn’t place, and he was looking straight at the teacher. But then he side-glanced at her, and it happened. Her palms got sweaty, her heart raced in her chest, and she could feel herself biting her lower lip, while blushing madly. “I’m your new student, Trent Adams?” Just like the effect the lilies once had on her, she could feel her mouth crack into a smile and eyes open wide. Was this what love felt like?
the only place you will hear the truth of tough love.
